Abstract
A procedure for the evaluation of wind-induced torsional vibrations of tall buildings is proposed. The procedure is capable of accounting for the time-dependent eccentricity of the aerodynamic forces on the building surface with respect to the elastic center, and the distance between mass and elastic centers. A large number of wind tunnel pressure measurements on a building s model are used to simulate the aerodynamic loading. A time domain analysis of the dynamic response is performed that accounts for modal coupling. The use of the proposed procedure is demonstrated in numerical applications.Citation
