Abstract
To facilitate advances in application of technologies pertaining to gas hydrates, a database containing experimentally-derived information about those materials has been developed. This work is being done in association with an international effort on the part of CODATA to aid in international data sharing. This data resource is accessible on a free and open basis through a web application interface. Beyond support for a variety of search capabilities for thermophysical property data of gas hydrates, this web interface also gives access to the scientific results from the 2002 Mallik research well, an important geophysical experiment exploring the properties of naturally occurring clathrate hydrates in permafrost and the feasibility of such occurrences as energy resources.
