Abstract
This paper provides the basis for an interactive mini tutorial and covers how to convert technical content to training materials. It includes: defining the audience, writing learning objectives, designing content and activities to achieve objectives, engaging participants in learning activities using adult learning methods, and assessing the learning event to determine whether objectives have been met. Examples are provided from NCSLI resources. The instructional approach covers the Analysis, Design, and Development phases of the ADDIE instructional design model; due to time constrains, it will only briefly touch on Implementation and Evaluation phases. It also considers Bloom s Taxonomy and the ANSI/IACET standards for offering continuing education units as an Authorized Provider.
