Abstract

The 91st Annual Meeting of the National Conference on Weights and Measures was held in Chicago, IL, July 9 - 14, 2006. The theme of the conference was Back to Basics as Stepping Stones to our Future. The NCWM develops and recommends laws and regulations, technical codes for weighing and measuring devices used in commerce, tests, methods, enforcement procedures, and administrative guidelines for adoption by regulatory agencies in the interest of promoting uniformity of requirements and methods in state and local jurisdictions.The annual meeting brings together government officials and representatives of business, industry, trade associations, and consumer organizations for the purpose of hearing and discussing subjects that relate to the field of weights and measures technology.
