Abstract
This article briefly explains the history and purpose of the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC)certification program, and provides insight into the test procedure and testing process for the HL7 V2 messaging standards. Addtionally, an overview of the test tools that are used by testing laboratiories to ensure that vendors' electronic health records (EHR) technologies meet the requirements of CEHRT is presented.
