Using quasielastic neutron scattering (QENS), we investigated proton dynamics for two superprotonic conductors, CsHSO4 and Rb2H(SeO4)2. In the superprotonic conducting phase, two translational proton motions were observed for the both compounds. Making comparison with the data obtained in the non-superprotonic conducting phase, the motion with slow proton diffusion was found to be significant for the appearance of superprotonic conductivity. The analysis of the intensity of the QENS signals indicated that a drastic increase in the number density of mobile protons above Tc induces superprotonic conductivity for the both compounds, despite a slow diffusion.
