NIST Presents an Infrastructure Plan to Strengthen Forensic Science Committees

NIST forensic science experts presented a plan for a new Organization of Scientific Area Committees (OSAC) at the first meeting of the National Commission on Forensic Science in Washington, D.C., earlier this week.

The plan lays out how the new organization will coordinate development of standards and guidelines for the forensic science community to improve quality and consistency of work in the forensic science community.

The OSAC will unify the currently independent scientific working groups and incorporate their work products.
