Christopher's work solves industrial relevant problems related to polymer science by leveraging: measurement science, x-ray methods, neutron methods, industrial engagement, academic engagement, and international outreach.

The Society of Polymer Science Japan (SPSJ) International Award was established in 1994 to honor the merits of international contributors to the SPSJ. This award has been given to foreign polymeric scientists and others who have contributed to the field of basic and applied sciences of polymer science and engineering for many years and have remarkable accomplishment of exchanges with Japan. The nominee will be a person who is over 55 years old.
