Treena Basu is an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science & Technology Policy Fellow (STPF) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Office of Advanced Manufacturing (OAM), which also serves as the Advanced Manufacturing National Program Office for Manufacturing USA. She is an Associate Professor of Mathematics on leave from Occidental College. Her research and teaching lie at the intersection of differential equations, data science, and artificial intelligence, with a particular interest in solving problems in a computationally efficient way. Driven by a passion for making mathematics accessible and impactful, she has spent her career mentoring undergraduate researchers, publishing in the field of applied mathematics and collaborating with industry partners through her grants. Treena received her PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics from the University of South Carolina.
