AWARD CITATION

Mr. Wong is recognized for excellence in biosafety leadership that has improved the NIST safety culture. His approachable, collaborative, and responsive attitude creates a welcoming environment for staff to ask for help. As a result, his expert guidance and practical solutions are frequently sought. He has been instrumental in assuring that NIST staff can safely begin projects that use new types of bio-samples and bio-instruments with potentially hazardous workflows. His critical guidance has supported enormous growth in NIST's bio-capabilities. Mr. Wong's biosafety leadership has significantly contributed to a positive NIST biosafety culture, directly facilitating the success of NIST bioscience programs that span the entire institute.
