Xiaojia Jin (IntlAssoc)

I earned my Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and am currently a Research Associate at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). My research focuses on the physical and chemical principles underlying the sorting of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) using single-stranded DNA. By selectively isolating ordered DNA–SWCNT hybrids with specific DNA sequences, we can separate SWCNTs by chirality. Building on this platform, I am developing novel fluorescent SWCNT-based diagnostic assays to capture spectral fingerprints of biofluids and integrate machine-learning approaches for classification across physiological states. Through this work, I have developed extensive expertise in nanomaterial and polymer characterization, spectroscopy, and machine learning.
