Abstract
One function that tissue phantoms for fluorescence guided imaging (FGI) systems are fabricated for, is to track an imaging system's repeatability and reproducibility performance as a light detector. This can be made more universally useful if the optical measurements are made traceable to the International System of Units (SI). This paper describes the relevant radiometric methods needed to convert imager-specific 'arbitrary digital counts' from tissue phantom fluorescence measurements to SI-traceable units through calibration. SI-traceable measurements enable comparisons across time, locale, and devices.
