2021 George A. Uriano Award

AWARD CITATION

Dr. Walker is recognized for his leadership of the MEP Assisted Technology and Technical Resource (MATTR) service, which began in 2016 and became fully operational in 2020.  MATTR connects the technical resources of the NIST Laboratories with the needs of small U.S. manufacturers identified by MEP Centers and vetted through NIST MEP.  Dr. Walker has developed and implemented MATTR to be a bi-directional service that allows small manufacturing clients of MEP Centers to access NIST expertise when they have a technical need that aligns with NIST research programs, capabilities, and interests.  MATTR also allows NIST researchers to query MEP Centers about small-manufacturer issues and opportunities that can inform NIST research.
