Abstract
Dublin, Ireland beheld The 20th International Conference of Miniaturized Systems for Chemistry and Life Sciences (MicroTAS 2016) from October 23 to 27, 2016. The conference not only included a great technical program, but also outreach activities, an exhibition of the history of the conference from the first one celebrated more than 20 years ago, and the arts competitions: namely the Video and Art in Science awards. This was the 9th year in a row for the Art in Science of MicroTAS competition, sponsored by Lab on a Chip (LOC) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), with greater participation than in recent years (40+ submissions this year!). Participants from four continents submitted images to the competition and the great quality of the submissions made the judges job immensely difficult, while exciting at the same time.
