Xiao Tang, leader of the Applied and Computational Mathematics Division's Quantum Communications Project, was named Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) "for outstanding contributions to the development of optical technologies and systems, with application to quantum communications, spectrometry, and digital preservation." This honor was conferred at the APS March Meeting in New Orleans on March 13, 2017.
