Guodong Shao (Fed)

Dr. Guodong Shao is a computer scientist in the Life Cycle Engineering Group in the Systems Integration Division (SID) of the Engineering Laboratory (EL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He has performed research relating to flexible manufacturing system, computer integrated manufacturing system, sustainable manufacturing, shop floor control and automation, engineering tool integration, decision support, simulation for manufacturing, medical, and Homeland Security for many years.

Dr. Shao's current primary areas of interest are Sustainable Manufacturing, Decision Guidance, Simulation and Optimization, and Information Modeling. He has authored more than 40 technical papers on related areas. He is on the Executive Board of the Winter Simulation Conference. He also serves at the editorial board of the International Journal on Advances in Systems and Measurements and reviewers for the International Journal of Sustainable Engineering, Journal of Defense Modeling and Simulation, Journal of Simulation: Transactions of the Society for Modeling and Simulation International, and International Journal of Simulation and Process Modeling.
