Abstract

Since 2009, the Information Services Office (ISO) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has been digitizing a legacy publication collection of technical reports and other materials published by the agency since its founding in 1901 As a first step in digital access, many of these articles and reports were made available via the NIST Digital Archives, a CONTENTdm repository hosted by OCLC.[1] Now, ISO is taking the next step towards ensuring preservation of these materials that are valuable products of measurement science researcher. Technical reports will be deposited and preserved in the Government Printing Office (GPO)’s FDSys system. The presentation will detail the NIST Research Library’s methodology, challenges and successes over the course of these projects.
