2023 Bronze Medal Award

AWARD CITATION

The group is recognized for the successful creation and execution of the Mobile Fingerprinting Innovation Technology Challenge in 2022, which used an innovative approach to engage collaborators within NIST as well as external solvers and resulted in improved accuracy, performance, and efficiency of mobile fingerprinting applications.  The impact of their work includes critical advances in the development and demonstration of technology that takes advantage of the capabilities of modern smartphones to help law enforcement more effectively carry out their mission of protecting lives.
