The group is recognized for their dedication to the realization and continuous delivery of the UTC(NIST) time scale, one of the most visible services provided by NIST. Delivering the national time standard has required continuous on-call duty and grace under pressure to restore operations when failures have inevitably occurred. The team's improvements to NIST's time scale infrastructure over the past three years have improved reliability and redundancy in the systems and have expanded real-time use of UTC(NIST) for critical infrastructure applications.
