2021 Judson C. French Award

The group is recognized for their initiative and technical innovation in creating a cutting-edge photometry laboratory, enabling NIST to offer best-in-the-world solid-state lighting and photometer measurement services. This new facility delivers calibrations in half the time with 3X lower uncertainties than the nearly 25-year-old lab it replaces, while providing a suite of new and automated capabilities in support of the burgeoning solid-state lighting industry; lower-cost radiometric calibrations for hyperspectral cameras; and the use of ultraviolet LEDs for germicidal applications.  The facility is already delivering calibrations to meet the advanced technology needs of industry, DoE, DoD, and the Federal Aviation Administration.
