The NIST MediFor team is recognized for outstanding research establishing the first-ever evaluations of automated forensics tools for detecting manipulated videos and images. As leaders for test and evaluation of DARPA's Media Forensic program, the team designed progressively more difficult evaluation tasks and harder-to-detect evaluation data that were representative of real-world forensic use cases. The program resulted in new tools and capabilities with a greater than 80% overall improvement in the detection of video manipulation.
