2020 George A. Uriano Award

The group is recognized for response to the CARES Act emergency need to award $50M to 51 MEP Centers in less than 100 days. The group successfully developed a Request for Applications, processed applications, and issued awards at an unprecedented pace, achieving all Administration objectives, and dramatically outpacing other Agencies.  This pace of execution has enabled MEP Centers and America’s small and medium manufacturers to robustly prevent and avoid many of the consequences of the pandemic, to prepare for the ongoing and still to come disruptions in manufacturing supply chains, and respond to critical national needs for domestically produced medical products, food, chemicals, car parts, and components for defense needs.
