Dr. Amanda Forster is honored for her long-term commitment to the professional and personal development of her mentees. She provides guidance and counseling to her mentees both during their time at NIST and after. Her mentees include both NIST researchers as well as students simultaneously pursuing their academic goals (BS, MS, and PhD) through a NIST educational program. Since 2006 she has mentored a broad range of culturally, nationally, socio-economically diverse mentees, mentoring more than 30 research associates and junior staff, for an average of three years each. She supports NIST STEM outreach programs and is a member of University of Maryland Graduate School and co-advises and mentors PhD and MS-level students.
