AWARD CITATION
This group is recognized for the exceptional design and execution of large-scale fire experiments on cross-laminated timber structures. These experiments were undertaken to examine recently identified issues related to the fire behavior and structural integrity of all-wood tall buildings. Results from these massive experiments provided the technical basis to transform the International Building Code to allow the expanded use of cross-laminated timber structures in North America while ensuring occupant safety.
