Awarded for achievements in science and engineering. The group is recognized for seminal work in the creation, characterization, improvement, and realization of the complex components that will form future practical quantum networks, which have the promise to vastly expand the processing speed, information-carrying capacity, and security of networks. The group pioneered unique quantum-based superconducting circuits and quantum-controlled micromechanical resonators that can be deployed together to efficiently and reliably store, process and transmit extremely fragile quantum information across a network.
