AWARD CITATION
The group is recognized for their extraordinary efforts in design development and construction management/execution that resulted in achieving a LEED-CI Platinum rating for the Building 1 renovations of Wing 3 and Wing 6 on the Boulder campus. Only one other federal laboratory has been certified at the Platinum level using the LEED-CI 2009 criteria. NIST's achievement has greatly reduced the environmental footprint of Building 1 and deepens NIST's commitment to overall energy efficiency as well as providing improved environmental controls and working conditions for researchers advancing NIST's mission.
