2017 William P. Slichter Award

Dr. Tarlov is recognized for creating critical partnerships with the FDA and global manufacturers of protein therapeutics to identify and address key measurement and standards needs required to advance the development, manufacturing, and regulation of innovative biologic medicines. The stakeholder partnerships he established and led spurred the development of revolutionary measurement science at NIST, and the development of innovative reference standards and data that directly support the safety and efficacy of new biologic drugs. As a result, NIST is a valued industry-wide partner for innovation in biotherapeutics, which contribute more than $100 billion to the U.S. economy.
