The group is recognized for modernizing the 40-year-old piston gauge calibration service to significantly improve the dissemination of pressure (pascal) calibration in the U.S., needed for everything from sterilizing equipment to generating power. In less than two years, the group designed, built, and validated an automated system that reduces manual input by 95% and the time needed for data analysis and calibration report generation by 98%. The group integrated new hardware and software systems and developed new measurement technologies to achieve a four-fold reduction in turnaround time and cost for a now broader base of industry and government customers.
