AWARD CITATION

This group is honored for architecting and delivering a contemporary wireless network service, NIST-Guest, resulting in mainstream Internet access for all NIST visitors and staff from personal and other non-NIST devices. The new capability provides NIST staff and visitors alike with a seamlessly integrated environment that promotes collaborations, eliminates the costly and complicated legacy version, and leverages advanced network security capabilities to safely enable internet-only access for non-NIST devices. The new service is implemented on over 600 wireless access points supporting NIST facilities located at Gaithersburg, Boulder, Fort Collins, the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, and part of the Herbert C. Hoover Building.
