Mr. Utsler is recognized for his technical service and exceptional customer service. His daily responsibilities are primarily assigned to Buildings 2 and 81 (the Katharine Gebbie Laboratory building). However, as the only back-up employee managing and running the campus' building automation system, his service is needed throughout the NIST Boulder Laboratories site. He has demonstrated technical expertise and is the go-to person for the more difficult troubleshooting in the HVAC system. He meets with customers one-on-one when a problem arises and, through excellent communication skills, resolves the problem. He is a valuable OFPM/BMSS employee and is a great model for fellow employees to follow.
