AWARD CITATION
The group is recognized for maintaining the Gaithersburg-campus Central Utility Plant operations during seven years of construction. During this time period they delivered to the campus, without significant disruption, 150 pounds per square inch of steam, 42-degree chilled water, and 105 pounds per square inch of compressed air. They developed working procedures to ensure that the plant stayed on line, without loss of service, during construction, during the commissioning of new equipment, and when unexpected issues arose on a newly installed piece of equipment.
