AWARD CITATION
The OISM team devised an enterprise Amazon Web Services (AWS) offering enabling NIST staff to store and disseminate unlimited amounts of data to NIST collaborators and to the public, to quickly instantiate or decommission computing resources according to their needs, and to disseminate NIST-developed software in a controlled environment. NIST staff relied on OISM to acquire and provide a centrally managed service giving them access to AWS’s extensive capabilities. This OISM team devised a NIST-specific computing environment in AWS that ensures security for NIST’s IT assets in AWS while providing researchers with the flexibility to create and control their own AWS resources.
