Community Progress Reports 

Project Updates
The Promote Career Discovery Working Group is working on the following projects: (1) Effective Practices to Identify, Track, and Measure Cybersecurity Career Discovery Programs, (2) Unlocking Untapped Cybersecurity Potential through Faith-Based Organization and Alternative Education Pathway Ecosystems, and (3) Galvanizing Employers to Promoter Work-Based Learning Experiences. 

The Apprenticeships in Cybersecurity Community of Interest has shifted to a new structure that will shift from monthly calls to a quarterly webinar schedule focused on industry and intermediary efforts, program implementation, and downstream outcomes.

The NICE Conference & Expo Call for Proposals opened on October 16, 2025 and will remain open until January 19, 2026. 

The NICE K12 Cybersecurity Education Conference will take place December 8-9, 2025 in Nashville, TN. Regular registration will close November 25, 2025 but late registration will open November 26 through December 5 while space is available.

The US Cyber Games celebrated Season V, US Cyber Team Draft Day on September 22, 2025. 


Featured Topic

Danielle Santos and Karen Wetzel from NICE presented on the next NICE Strategic Plan that will cover 2026-2030. The new strategic plan will focus on four pillars: (1) Preparing a Skilled Workforce, (2) Transforming Talent Acquisitions, (3) Advancing and Sustaining the Workforce, and (4) Building Workforce Ecosystems.

The NICE Community Coordinating Council meets bi-monthly to engage with public and private sector participants on cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development topics.

Additionally, the NICE Community Coordinating Council is comprised of three Working Groups and four Communities of Interest, each with their own meeting cadence.
