Cybersecurity Caucus Addresses the Talent Gap

The co-chairs of the Congressional Cybersecurity Caucus hosted a roundtable event on Building a Better Cybersecurity Workforce on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. The event addressed the growth in cybersecurity jobs and how this growth presents a challenge to public and private sector employers that must be addressed with a short, mid, and long-term approach. The roundtable featured an interactive panel moderated by Rodney Petersen, the Director for the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) at NIST. During the session, Rodney also shared perspectives on using the NICE Cybersecurity Workforce Framework to build an integrated ecosystem that is community-oriented, employer-driven, standards-based, learner-centered, and results-focused.
