Dianne O'Leary and G. W. (Pete) Stewart, Faculty Appointees in the Mathematical and Computational Sciences Division, have been named Fellows of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). O'Leary, who is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP), was cited for contributions to linear algebra, regularization, and applications. Stewart, Distinguished University Professor Emeritus of Computer Science at UMCP, was cited for contributions to numerical linear algebra. The SIAM Fellows program has just been established; O'Leary and Stewart are members of the inaugural class of inductees.
