This Info Hour will provide a short introduction of EU regulations to US stakeholders with respect to legal metrology. Touching on subjects like CE marking, the legislative framework, the Measuring Instruments Directive, NAWI Directive, conformity assessment procedures, harmonized versus national regulations, and the role of the manufacturer. The main audience is US manufacturers but anybody who is interested in learning more about the EU approach of legal metrology, should attend.

The NIST Office of Weights and Measures (OWM) hosts a series of Information Hours, or "Info Hours," that feature insights on topics relevant to legal metrology and documentary standards through an informal technical discussion and Question and Answer forum. In this week's session, NIST OWM’s Jan Konijnenburg provides a short introduction to EU regulations with respect to legal metrology for U.S. stakeholders, especially U.S. manufacturers.
