AIPLA-NIST Partnering in Standards Event

NIST and American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) invite you to mark your calendar for a two-day exploration (April 21–22) of the evolving landscape of Standards, Critical & Emerging Technologies (CET), and Intellectual Property.

The AIPLA-NIST Partnering in Standards Event will feature a hybrid format. Day 1, April 21, 2026, will be fully virtual, delivering foundational briefings and updates. Day 2, April 22, 2026, will be a hybrid in-person event in Washington, DC at Baker Botts L.L.P., 700 K St NW, Washington, DC 20001. Topics will focus on panel discussions, deep dives, and networking. The programming brings together government voices, legal experts, and industry leaders for a mix of interactive panels, technical case studies, and policy briefings. We are curating an agenda focused on the most pressing issues at the intersection of law and technology, including standards and the law, Standard Essential Patents (SEPs), competition and trade, the AI landscape, and other Critical & Emerging Technologies (CET).

A full agenda for the event will be available soon. Registration is not required, and a virtual meeting link will be sent out with the agenda. If you would like to attend in person on April 22, 2026, please email Maria Knake at maria.p.knake [at] nist.gov (maria[dot]p[dot]knake[at]nist[dot]gov) by April 17, 2026.

We hope to see you there!
