Agenda

Background

Working with the cybersecurity and AI communities, the NIST NCCoE published a preliminary draft of the Cyber AI Profile to help organizations strategically adopt AI while addressing and prioritizing cybersecurity risks stemming from its advancements. The preliminary draft of the NIST Cyber AI Profile is available for public comment through January 30, 2026.

Workshop Details

This workshop will feature in-person and virtual presentations in the morning, followed by in-person only breakout sessions in the afternoon. The breakout sessions will allow in-person attendees to engage directly with the NIST Cyber AI Profile team and for in-depth discussion of the preliminary draft of the Profile.

Note: The virtual portion of this workshop will conclude after the morning presentations.

This publication is a preliminary draft – and your feedback is crucial in shaping the next and final version of this publication. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on the following topics (please see the Note to Reviewers for additional topics):

  • Document structure/topics: How do you and your organization envision using this publication? Do you find the document sufficient to address the topic?
  • Focus Area descriptions: How well do the Focus Area descriptions reflect their scope and characteristics? Are the descriptions clear? Are any characteristics missing?
  • Alignment with existing standards and practices: How well do the publication’s priorities and considerations relate to your organization’s current practices? What additional Informative References do you recommend? For any additional Informative References, how do you envision them contributing to the Profile and how should we prioritize their inclusions in this document?
  • Profile content: What suggestions do you have on changing the format of the information provided (e.g., spreadsheet/workbook, NIST Cybersecurity and Privacy Reference Tool (CPRT))? Should the Profile content for all Focus Areas be shown together or is there value in providing Profile content for each Focus Area separately?
