NCCoE Cybersecurity Connections: Celebrating National Small Business Week

Event Location

National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, 9700 Great Seneca Highway, Rockville, MD 20850

Description

Join us for an in-person ‘Cybersecurity Connections’ Event and Networking Lunch during National Small Business Week!

Hosted in partnership with the Maryland Department of Commerce and Montgomery County, these quarterly events feature a discussion on cybersecurity best practices from leaders in the community, as well as a networking lunch, provided by the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation on behalf of Montgomery County, Maryland.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is celebrating National Small Business Week from May 4 – 10, 2025. This week recognizes and celebrates the small business community’s significant contributions to the nation. Organizations across the country participate by hosting in-person and virtual events, recognizing small business leaders and change-makers, and highlighting resources that help the small business community more easily and efficiently start and scale their businesses.

To add to the festivities, NIST is hosting an in-person workshop on May 5, 2025, which will feature a panel discussion with local and regional experts on key resources and approaches to strengthening the cybersecurity of the small business community. In addition to the panel discussion, a series of brief 5-minute lightning talks will be presented to showcase opportunities for the small business community to engage with NIST’s cybersecurity efforts. Lightning Talk topics include:

  • An overview of the NIST Small Business Cybersecurity Corner
  • Finding help at your regional NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership Network
  • How small businesses can do business with NIST.
  • How science and technology-based firms can participate in the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program

A Networking Lunch, sponsored by Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) on behalf of Montgomery County, Maryland, will be held immediately after the Lightning Talks for audience members to engage with the event speakers and other attendees.

*Registration closes on April 29, 2025.

*This registration is for in-person attendance only.

Recording Note: Portions of the event may be recorded and audience Q&A or comments may be captured. The recorded event may be edited and rebroadcast or otherwise made publicly available by NIST. By registering for — or attending — this event, you acknowledge and consent to being recorded.
