Little Red Magnet (LRM)
The little red magnet (LRM) can be oriented so that the magnetic field is parallel or perpendicular to the direction of the neutron beam and the maximum field is 4000 G ( 0.4T). When used with closed cycle refrigerator and the silicon tails, the base temperature can reach ~ 3K. Two sample holders are also available. Extra coils can be added to the magnet's poles to create oscillating magnetic fields.
