Justin Zook co-leads the Biomarker and Genomic Sciences Group in NIST’s Material Measurement Laboratory. Since 2013, he has co-led Genome in a Bottle, an open science consortium with industry, academia, and government to authoritatively sequence the DNA of NIST’s human genome Reference Materials. For this work, in 2017, he received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the highest honor bestowed by the United States Government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers.
