Diana L. Ortiz-Montalvo is a research chemist in the Nano Materials Research Group at NIST. She joined NIST in 2013 as an NRC RAP fellow and worked on atmospheric particle microanalysis. Diana continues her research on airborne particles, focusing on particle analysis and characterization. She is proud of her Puerto Rican roots and loves to visit family there. When she was younger, she was a member of a Puerto Rican folkloric dancing group called Ballet Folklórico Bellos Atardeceres de Rincon Puerto Rico. “Bellos atardeceres” means “beautiful sunsets” in English.
