Ashley Boggs

Ashley Boggs earned her Ph.D. in interdisciplinary ecology at the University of Florida with a concentration on endocrine disruption of the American alligator at the NASA Kennedy Space Center. Her expertise support endocrine research and clinical diagnostics through development of reference materials and multi-analyte measurement methods for steroid, thyroid and protein hormones using mass spectrometry. She has been a research biologist at NIST since 2012 and during that time helped to develop the metrology program related to clinical, environmental and aquacultural endocrine measurements.

NIST Charleston researchers Ashley Boggs-Russell (sitting) and Amanda Moors (standing) work with researchers from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the National Marine Mammal Foundation to process tissue samples during veterinary assessments of wild bottlenose dolphins in the Gulf of Mexico following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. No dolphins were harmed in this process.
