Gem City Metal Technologies, a subsidiary of Dynamic Aerospace and Defense, is recognized as a leader in close tolerance hand spinning, a metalworking process by which a disc or tube of metal is rotated at high speed and formed into an axially symmetric part. Located in Dayton, Ohio, they are a premier metal forming company. Gem City Metal Technologies has expanded their capabilities to include automatic and CNC metal spinning, laser cutting, high pressure hydroforming, metal stamping and punching. Their in-house design and build capabilities for tool & die, allow them to reduce lead times and alter tooling as required for exceptional service and just in time shipments.

I would like to thank the team for all of the hard work they do for our company.

—Dave Ironside, Director of Quality

Aerospace is a large portion of Gem City Metal Technologies’ business. In order to continue to compete in their market, they needed to become AS9100 certified. Without the required certification, they faced losing a significant amount of business.

FASTLANE, part of the Ohio Manufacturing Extension Partnership and the MEP National NetworkTM, assisted Gem City Metal Technologies in obtaining their AS9100 and ISO9001 certifications by supporting their certification audit. The audit was critical and required to become AS9100 certified.
