The Brookhaven National Lab National Synchrotron Light Source Users' Executive Committee (UEC) instituted an award in 2002 to acknowledge an individual from the NSLS user community in recognition of his/her service, innovation, and/or dedication to the NSLS users. The tradition of this award has continued on to the new facility with the NSLS-II UEC.
This is an award for contributions that have improved the quality of science at NSLS-II.
Any member of the NSLS-II user community with an active appointment is eligible for receipt of this award, excluding current UEC members. In addition to a monetary award, the award winner’s name is engraved on the UEC Award plaque which is displayed at NSLS-II.
For two decades of dedication to education and development, improving the science of the NSLS/NSLS-II community and beyond. "Bruce has been an amazing asset and mentor to many of us in the synchrotron science community, and he was unanimously selected to receive this year's award."
