Each year, the AOAC Official Methods Board recognizes exemplary work completed and published within the past three years through its Award in Recognition of Technical and Scientific Excellence. This Award will be presented during the 2024 AOAC Annual Meeting & Exhibition.

Ishi Keenum, Jason Kralj, and Stephanie Servetas of the Biosystems and Biomaterials Division Complex Microbial Systems Group received the 2024 AOAC Award in Recognition of Technical and Scientific Excellence for their paper on Amplicon Sequencing Minimal Information (ASqMI). Ishi, Jason, and Stephanie lead this effort as part of the AOAC-SPADA working group focused on Standards for Biothreat Detection.
