The JARI Medal, first given in 1980 by the Journal of Applied Radiation and Isotopes, recognizes a senior scientist who has made outstanding contributions to the field of Radiation Physics. The JARI Enterprise Award is presented for “outstanding work in the radiation sciences, the nature of the research being recognized to be of a leading and challenging nature”.
Collé, well-known for his work on establishing one of the first quality assurance programs for radioactivity in the world, was honored for "outstanding contributions to radiation and isotope applications and instrumentation. The medal is awarded for the most original, useful, or novel method developed for such applications." The award was presented at the 18th International Conference on Radionuclide Metrology and its Applications in Tsukuba, Japan, 19-23 September 2011.
