Notice of Intent
NIST has given notice that it will announce a competition for Manufacturing USA Institutes to develop roadmaps for transitioning technologies to market. NIST expects that institutes participating in this opportunity will generate actionable roadmaps and implementable mechanisms to demonstrate and validate new technologies, create effective commercialization pathways, and assist vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers of all sizes in implementing advanced manufacturing at scale.
A formal notice of the funding opportunity will be posted on Grants.gov and the OAM website.
Eligibility
Eligibility for this program is limited to current Manufacturing USA institutes. The Manufacturing USA institutes eligible to submit applications under this funding opportunity are: AFFOA, AIM Photonics, America Makes, ARM Institute, BioFabUSA, BioMADE, CESMII, CyManII, EPIXC, IACMI, LIFT, MxD, NextFlex, NIIMBL, PowerAmerica, RAPID, and REMADE. An organization (university or non-profit) that runs or hosts an institute may apply on the institute’s behalf. NIST intends that each eligible entity may only submit a single proposal.
Anticipated Funding Amounts
NIST will provide up to $10 million total for multiple awards; each award may be up to $550,000. The notice issued is intended to allow potential applicants time to begin to develop collaborations among critical stakeholders.
