Abstract

Do standards have a place in developing our usability practice? From those who believe they are a critical part of developing the profession to those who think they get in the way of creativity, standards provoke strong opinions. At Usability Professionals¿ Association (UPA) 2006 conference a panel of professionals looked at the role and effectiveness of standards in our profession from several different perspectives.
