Abstract

Recent results using a phase field model of polycrystalline alloy dynamics are presented, using two numerical techiques: adaptive grids and parallel grids. The growth of alloy dendrites, and their subsequent impingement to form grain boundaries is demonstrated within the model, and topics for future research are discussed.
